Aqua QuiltletCreated with healing powers in mind . . . discovered throughout the world, healing waters have been responsible for thousands of otherwise unexplainable healings. Presented as a gift of celebration to a recently certified Acupuncturist as she embarked on her new career. | Paris - pillow with quilt topFriends had an opportunity to stay in Paris during the holidays - in a personal apartment in the neighborhood of La Marais, complete with wine cellar, concierge and car. I found the perfect Je t'aime Paris fabric and created the pillow. As I was designing a quilt, we received their anniversary invitation that clearly stated "no gifts". After much debate, we decided to go ahead and present them with the pillow. The quilt will be presented to honor another upcoming milestone. |

Wedding Quilt with SignaturesA friend wanted to surprise her daughter with a special quilt for her wedding. Mom wrote me a note and said "they are just now working on buying furniture, etc. for when they do get married.Their taste is kind of Pottery Barnish - so, the quilt should be made using spice and warm colors . . . not too much print, but flannel on the back to make it cuddly." A special keepsake touch - her girlfriends were asked to write a cherished message for the Bride- to-be on individual fabric squares. | Close-up signature |
Mother of the Bride pillowI presented the Mother-of-the-Bride with a pillow, complete with a wedding day photo and the following quotation she wrote on the quilt: "Daughters will hold your hand for a little while . . . but will hold your heart for a lifetime!" | Hankie Quiltwork |

Mended Leaves - detail 01The class was for "Mended Hearts" but I had a stack full of leaf fabrics. The instructor was encouraging when I asked if I could make "Mended Leaves". The technique was the same and I was so pleased to use up some fabrics from my stash. | Mended Leaves - detail 02Another detail from this colorful lap quilt. |

Close-Up CHARMCharm quilts have been popular since the 1870s. Traditionally, each piece of fabric used is one-of-a-kind. Making connections with each unique square was enjoyable until I was working on the binding and realized that two squares had been duplicated! An easy fix by sewing on a charm to the duplicate square to make it stand out among the others - as charming as the quilt's recipient. | Patriotic Quilt - detail |
