NATIONAL QUILTING MONTH PHOTO CHALLENGE / #IGQuiltFest:
What are you doing for National Quilt Month? Are you following the photo challenge, hosted by Amy Ellis (AmysCreativeSide.com), posted to #IGQuiltFest. I don't have an Instagram account but will participate by posting weekly photos (with captions) in this space.
DAY 11 - FAVORITE COLOR
Think PINK!
DAY 12 - IRON TIPS
Never use circular strokes — you can stretch the fabric.
DAY 13 - BEST EVER TIP
Measure twice, cut once. If you're especially tired or overloaded, measure three times.
DAY 14 - RECENT FINISH
This is a quilt top finish from #IGQuiltFest Day 4. I cut the strips vertically, then sewed them back together, to create this pattern.
DAY 15 - QUILTS & PEOPLE
Stay connected: What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?
DAY 16 - QUILTING BOOK
The Quilts of Gee's Bend, by Susan Goldman Rubin, "explores the history of an extraordinary group of women and their unique art."
Today we celebrate National Quilt Day! Several bloggers suggest making this the day to refold your quilts in your collection. Refolding quilts helps to keep fibers strong.
DAY 17 - SEWING FRIENDS
"Friendship is the thread in the patchwork of life."
From Amy's March 1st blog post:
IGQuiltFest celebrates the many different aspects of quilting, and is a great way to get to know other quilters online. There's no pressure to post EVERYDAY but it's definitely fun to post when you have the time.
Enjoy the inspirations on her website. To participate: Add a photo to your Instagram profile based on the daily prompt. Use #IGQuiltFest in the caption of your posts and have a public profile to show up in the hashtag feed.
