One Monthly Goal - November 2017

The Fours: a wildly supportive, compassionate and fun woman's group that I belong to.

We've fine-tuned the four quilts we'll be sending (from my initial blog post) to those in need, to include those affected by Hurricane Harvey (Texas), Hurricane Irma (Florida), Hurricane Maria (Puerto Rico & US Virgin Islands).

During the devastating hurricanes, I put the call out to the girlfriends . . . This weekend, I will begin working on 4 quilts to send to Harris County. Each quilt will incorporate a heart (or hearts) and will also have a four-patch quilt block. Please let me know what color you would like me to incorporate into 'your' quilt.

My OMG for November is to piece one quilt, choose the backing fabric from my stash and baste for quilting. Then, begin work on the next quilt that The Fours have committed to sending.

November's Quilt Description:

"In mine put sky blue (no rain!) and white for fluffy clouds (no rain clouds!). And gold for sunny days (to recover and dry out)."

The softest blue in my stash has butterflies - representing powerful transformations of endurance, change, hope and life.

The quilt has been designed . . .

Next, comes the fun part . . .

After evacuating during the recent Northern California wildfires, it is healing to sit down at the sewing machine and get creative. There will be time as many recover and re-build to come up with a project that will help those displaced in our resilient communities.

Now it is your turn to link up - what is your goal for November?

(A goal could be to finish a quilt but it could also be to attach a binding. Whatever it takes to help you move forward and make progress on your projects! And as long as the project involves a needle and/or fabric, you can link up!)

XOXOX

Love where you are headed with this quilt. Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and good luck with your project! Patty 11.5.2017

Thank you, Patty. Your November reminder came at just the perfect time. It feels good to be back working on these special projects.
