OMG - March complete

Creating paper-pieced daffodils to coordinate with butterfly and spring floral prints has been on my to-do list all month. Spending time to teach a friend the quilting process has kept me busy as we designed and pieced quilts for her two grandsons. The quilts have been quilted and she is now working on the binding.

In between working with dinosaur and cheetah fabrics, I designed my One Monthly Goal quilt top. This is the third time I've ever sketched out a plan. And, since I'm trying something new, I added a quotation in the center (shown below with dragonflies) that I will embroider. The quilt top incorporates paper-pieced flowers and butterflies.

I have been gathering fabrics in yellows and blues to create the daffodil paper-pieced squares.

My design calls for 20 paper-pieced daffodils. I've drawn out the daffodils on tracing paper and pulled background, flower and stem fabrics from my stash.

I found colorful 'scrappy tulips' on Samelia's Mum's blog that I would like to use in this evolving springtime quilt.

Butterflies will be pieced in golds and yellows . . .

My March design project for the Elm Street Quilts: One Monthly Goal challenge is complete. I will continue creating more daffodils and tulips, and will add even more butterflies, too.

Have you linked up? What is your goal for April?

(A goal could be to finish a quilt, but could also be to attach a binding. Whatever it takes to help you move forward and make progress on your projects! As long as the project involves a needle and/or fabric, you can link up!)

We'll be a quarter of the way through the One Monthly Goal challenge. Do you have your next goal lined up?
